Was Fernandez waving goodbye?

Enzo Fernandez appeared to wave towards the away fans following Chelsea’s defeat at Sunderland on Sunday.

The defeat means Chelsea will not play in Europe next season – something that will no doubt increase speculation over the Argentina international’s future.

Fernandez was dropped for two games earlier this season after publicly discussing a potential move to Real Madrid and questioning the club’s decision to part ways with Enzo Maresca.

Reports have suggested Maresca, who is expected to replace Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, could try to bring him to the Etihad Stadium this summer.
